Also, I’ve thought of the reality that if I was ever stopped and did not have time to put shorts on without being obvious about it, that “technically” being nude in my automobile is legal. Click to viewNevertheless, in the event an officer of the law approached my vehicle and I just had short pants draped over my lap, and was thus technically NOT naked, then would it be sarcastic to inquire, ‘What appears to be the issue Policeman, Sir?’ In the hope that he or she would have to create another valid reason behind stopping me, and additionally they could not just respond with, ‘It seemed as though you might be driving nude, Sir.’ (again, which I don’t believe is cause enough to stop someone)

Of course they could always say, ‘We had a complaint from a different motorist of a driver in a vehicle similar to yours without clothes on.’ and this may be close enough to the truth as to “fly” in a just-need-to-get-my-monthly-quota ticket composing scenario.

Even being stopped for any other motive, if caught in the nude, I consider every motorist should have the right to dress before exiting their vehicle to comply with roadside sobriety tests. As you can tell from this I’ve never been stopped for this kind of test in my 28 years of driving.

(hmmm, maybe there’s even a law enforcement officer in the audience who could comment on the technicalities of naked driving…)
